His mind raced as he considered the virus’s possible options. What could it do? Did it have a deflection crew on standby? Earth did, something that might have saved the planet on a couple of occasions. The beancounters still bitched about the cost ... he frowned. Dealing with one asteroid would be a piece of cake, but nine? Did the virus have nine deflection crews on permanent standby? Or would it try to use a missile to deflect or destroy the asteroid, gambling it could deal with any pieces of space junk before they reached the high orbitals. Or ... why not both? There was nothing to be gained by staking everything on a single option.
